Information about the New Regulation of the Residencia


(residency permit)


 




Since the new immigration rules are in force, you have to apply for the residency permit in the Dominican Consulate of your country.


ATTENTION: This type of permit you receive only in the Consulates, NOT in the Honorary Consulates.


 


The following Documents should the Client present to the Consul:


 



  • 1 Photo of the applicant from the front with a white background. (size of a passport photo)

  • Valid Passport.



  • Two-sided copy of identity card

  • A medical Certificate that confirms that the applicant is in good physical and mental health.

  • Original Birth Certificate, duly apostilled according to Hague Convention for those countries who undersigned it.

  • Original Marriage Certificate (if married) duly apostilled according to Hague Convention for those countries who undersigned it.

  • Original Criminal Report, duly apostilled according to Hague Convention for those countries who undersigned it.

  • Documents that shows that the applicant has assets or income to allow him to live in the Dominican Republik, like property title, bank letter with balance, confirmation over shares in a company, Certificate of merit by the employer or pension income, etc.

  • Guarantee letter from a Dominican person, please provide a dominican solvent person.

  • Letter of application for a residence permit.

  • Completed transfer visa form ( points 9-11 will be done by this firm).


 


 


The process is as follows:


As soon as you (applicant) have all the necessary Documents, from Point 1 to 8, you should contact me, so that we can prepare the letter of application, the guarantee letter and the form for you.


With the complete file you go to the next Dominican Consulat to deposit the Documentation and to pay the Consulat fees of aprox 120 Dollars for the residence permit.


The Consulate should give answer to the application within a period of 15 days and return the preliminary residency permit stamped passport and the rest of the presented documents.


When you arrive to the Dominican Republic, please hand us over all the Documents to continue the process of the application for the residency permit and to get ultimately the residency permit and the Dominican Cedula (ID).


 


You should arrive in DR within 60 days after getting the Visa and meet with my colleague in Santo domingo to do some medical exams, around 4 month later, you need to go again to santo Domingo to get the residency and Cedula.
